What is Novarel®?
During an assisted reproductive cycle (ART), Novarel® is used to induce egg maturation and trigger ovulation (the release of an egg(s) from the ovary) in women who have been treated with ovulation inducing medications.

How Do I Use Novarel®?
Here are step-by-step instructions for taking Novarel® (chorionic gonadotropin) injections:

Remove the plastic cap from the vial of powder and the vial of diluent. Wipe the rubber stoppers of both vials with alcohol.

Using a 3 cc syringe with a 22 gauge, 1½ inch needle, pull back on the plunger to the 1 cc mark. Inject 1 cc of air into the vial containing the liquid diluent after piercing the rubber stopper with the needle.

Invert the vial, making sure the tip of the needle is below the fluid level, and withdraw 1 cc of the liquid. Any remaining liquid can be discarded.

Withdraw the needle and pierce the vial containing the powder. Slowly inject the 1 cc of diluent into the vial of powder.

Gently swirl the solution until the powder is dissolved and clear. Do not shake.

Invert this vial making sure the tip of the needle is well below the liquid level. Withdraw all of this medication. You might not be able to withdraw every drop.

With the needle pointing toward the ceiling, flick the side of the syringe to disperse any air bubbles and the air pocket at the top of the syringe, then gently push the plunger until one or two drops of liquid are expressed to make sure you have eliminated any air.

¿Qué es Novarel®?
Durante un ciclo reproductivo asistido (ART, por sus siglas en inglés), Novarel® se usa para inducir la maduración del óvulo y provocar la ovulación (la liberación de óvulo[s] del ovario) en las mujeres que han recibido tratamiento con medicamentos inductores de la ovulación.

¿Cómo utilizo Novarel®?
Aquí incluimos instrucciones paso a paso para administrar las inyecciones de Novarel® (gonadotropina coriónica):

Remueva el capuchón de plástico del vial de polvo y del vial de diluyente. Limpie con alcohol los tapones de goma de ambos viales.

Con una jeringa de 3 cc con una aguja calibre 22 de 1 ½ pulgadas, tire del émbolo hasta la marca de 1 cc. Inyecte 1 cc de aire dentro del vial que contiene el diluyente líquido después de perforar el tapón de goma con la aguja.

Invierta el vial asegurándose de que la punta de la aguja se encuentre por debajo del nivel del fluido y retire 1 cc del líquido. Puede desechar cualquier líquido restante.

Retire la aguja y perfore el vial que contiene el polvo. Lentamente, inyecte 1 cc de diluyente en el vial de polvo.

Suavemente, haga girar la solución hasta que el polvo quede disuelto y transparente. No agite.

Invierta este vial asegurándose de que la punta de la aguja esté bien por debajo del nivel del líquido. Retire todo este medicamento. Es posible que no pueda retirar absolutamente todo.

Con la aguja apuntando hacia el techo, golpee suavemente el costado de la jeringa para disipar cualquier burbuja de aire y la bolsa de aire de la parte superior de la jeringa. Luego, suavemente, presione el émbolo hasta que se expulsen una o dos gotas de líquido, para asegurarse de haber eliminado cualquier resto de aire.
